Sorry I’ve been kind of quiet lately! Most of you know I work full-time as HR Director at Blue Ridge Community Action (BRCA), a nonprofit that helps low-income families with essential services. Sometimes, even the helpers need a little help too. Seeing the building that has helped countless lives, children, and families for over 20 years be gone is heartbreaking. Out of 81 employees, 48 have to be relocated, 102 children are without childcare, and 23 of our Adult Day Center clients are without their daily care and support. Many of our local families are now without basic needs. We will rebuild. I don’t have words—I know others have it so much worse, and my heart ACHES for them.
